Flow League Spring 2011

WEEK 7: 5/19 - FINALS!!!
Congrats to Burrito Surf for taking the league. At last nights Flow League the finals went down, and people went down fast. It was more of a heat of debauchery I would say. Team Four put a fight, a fight with everything they could find to get the Burrito Surfers off the wave, but it just wasn't enough. Great League, great night, and great fun. Thanks to everyone made the league everything it turned out to be. See you for the Summer Flow League.

WEEK 6: 4/28
This weeks flow league could only be described in one word... WOW! It got a little out of hand, influenced by Team Fours shenanigans, which was to the crowds benefit as it was extremely entertaining. Once again Team Four were in the spotlight as one member turned rogue against his fellow team mates and no yellow shirts were seen anywhere. As this was the last week of competition before the “Flow-Off’s”, teams were scrambling from left to right filling in unclaimed rider spots to get those all important points.

WEEK 5: 4/21
Now that we are nearing the end of the spring season, the team scoreboard is starting to take shape with some very surprising results. Kook Berries and Burrito Surf are each holding on to first place in their respective brackets. That being said, there are a few teams nipping at their heels in close second and week 5 showed that even the "not so serious" teams took advantage of this and actually put some effort into their runs. There was some great riding and big tricks as a full restaurant cheered on with amazement. Surprisingly, the league has begun to take on a different look and has shown the crowd some serious competition. Next week is the last week of regulation play before the "Flow-Offs", which will undoubtedly be a competition you won't want to miss.

WEEK 4: 4/14
Once again the spring like weather played an important roll in Thursday night's FLOW League. It helped pack the bar and grill which energized the FLOW League teams and captivated the audience. The madness was back as TEAM FOUR returned from vacation and actually competed for the first time this season with only one substitute. It seemed like there were more props on the wave than riders, and with "fun" being the main theme for the night, all teams were competing for mere enjoyment. It seemed winning was an after thought which is the main reason most of the league riders come down to Wave House anyway. So if you wanna come share the fun then be sure to drop in next Thursday at 6PM as we begin the second half of the season.

WEEK 3: 4/7
Although the weather didn’t  cooperate, week 3 flow leaguers came out in full force. Due to a few vacant members from TEAM FOUR there was noticeably less noise and fewer rafts and balls being tossed at the riders, giving the teams more time to concentrate on their riding. With a hint of seriousness in the air, teams gathered in the spas to work their strategies, mark off tricks and designate team riders certain maneuvers to achieve the all-important victory. In the end, Kook Berries, Radical Reality, Taco Surf and Burrito Surf were victorious while Team Four lost by just one point (pick it up, guys!) and Tiger Blood, also not a "WINNING" team this week, had just one thing to say, "This is horse $#*&". Aside from great riders and sore losers, last night had beats spun by a local UCSD DJ, which fed the teams  musical energy and gave the onlookers a show to remember. Be sure to come by to watch next Thursday and support your favorite team.

WEEK 2: 3/31
Blue skies and 80 degree weather gave the perfect sunset to kick off Spring 2011 Flow League Week 2. After last week’s performance, the benchmark was set for the season, but just when you thought things couldn’t get crazier, teams arrived dressed in pink tutu’s and wrapped in tin foil. With a packed bar and a loud crowd, the riders did everything but hold back. Tennis balls and footballs were flying left and right, which made it a challenge just to stay up for 10 seconds. Be sure to come support your favorite team next Thursday and witness the craziness.

WEEK 1: 3/24
Wave House kicked off the Spring 2011 Flow League Season. It was a great start to a new season and a brand new format. With a half hour of ride time, teams were racking up points using footballs, tennis balls, volleyballs, and inflatable sharks. If you weren't here, it was definitely entertaining. Teams showed up as ninjas, yellow number fours, and gauchos. Epic battles, killer sharks, and Team four.

Coming out on top with wins were Team Four, Taco Surf, Burrito Surf, and Kook Berries.
