Rules and Regulations

COMPETITION FORMAT

Teams
Flow League consists of 8 teams, all which have 4 riders. Each rider must be a different rating, 1 through 4. Within each rating, there is an A and B level. There must be two A’s and two B’s per team. In regards to subbing, we do allow substitute riders when a team member cannot make it, as long as they register with the manager prior to the start of the evening’s competition. Subs cannot ride on more than one team per night. Therefore, when a team knows they will be missing a rider, they are responsible to get a sub outside of the regular league riders.

Format
Each rider will have three 45-second runs to earn the best score possible. Judges will add each rider’s top 2 scores to the overall team score. The team with the most points at the end of the heat will earn a win.

Judging & Scoring
Each week, a team from Division I will judge the heats from Division II and vice versa. If a team does not show up to judge, each member will be docked one point from each of their runs.

The following criteria will determine an individual's score out of 10 points:

  • Difficulty - Position on the wave and difficulty of the trick will be a factor
  • Variety - Number of different and unique maneuvers/tricks
  • Repetition - will result in a lower score
  • Execution - How clean and controlled the maneuvers/tricks are executed. The cleaner the landing, the higher the score, but this is also influenced by the difficulty of the trick
  • Overall Impression
    • How well the FlowBarrel is used
    • How the riders use their time
    • Intensity, style, control, and comfort are all factor

Tournament Play
There will be two brackets consisting of 4 teams each. Each team will play the teams in their bracket twice over a six week period and the top two teams from each bracket will move on to Week Seven
