Beach Volleyball Camp for 13-18 year old girls

Women's Pro-Beach Volleyball player, Juliana Evens, will be holding a 2-day Volleyball Camp outside of Wave House in Mission Beach this Spring Break for girls ages 13-18, any skill level. The camp, coached by professional AVP volleyball players, will be held from 9 - 11:30am on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

With three different weeks, your child will be able to attend whenever her spring break occurs!

  • Tuesday, March 30 and Wednesday, March 31
  • Tuesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 7
  • Tuesday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 14

The cost for these two days of coaching is $100, which also includes a camp t-shirt, discounted lunch options from Wave House Bar & Grill and discounted wave riding on the FlowRider or FlowBarrel.

Lunch Options include a turkey or vegetarian sandwich, chips and a drink for $10. If ordered in advance, it will be ready to eat when camp ends. Simply check the boxes on the registration form to include this in your child's camp day.

Your child can bodyboard (laying on their stomach on a boogie board) or flowboard (standing up on a flowboard, similar to surfing) on the manmade Wave machines, FlowRider and FlowBarrel, in Wave House after camp ends. Click Here for more information on these machines. First time riders must qualify themselves on the smaller wave, FlowRider, before moving on to the larger one, FlowBarrel. Height requirements for both machines are 42" to bodyboard and 52" to stand up. Please note: Wave Riding requires an additional waiver. Please download HERE and have your child bring to the first day of camp, along with a separate payment. Mention the Volleyball Camp to receive a $10 discount.

About Juliana:

My name is Juliana Evens, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I moved to the U.S. in 1998 at the age of 21.  I came here to play volleyball on a full scholarship from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri.  In my two years there, we made it to the National Finals both years and came away with one NAIA National Championship.  I played my last years of eligibility on a full scholarship from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Division 1 school, which is still one of top 25 collegiate volleyball programs in the country. We qualified for the NCAA tournament every year.  In 2003, I was named Defense Specialist of the year in the Big 12.

After graduating in 2004, I moved to San Diego where I got married and now have a family. In 2007, I started my beach volleyball career.  I have made significant progress with my skills and results the past couple years.  In fact, me and my partner, Kim McGiven have achieved significant results in our first year together.  We qualified to play in the AVP, which is one of the best beach volleyball leagues in the world. We played against Nicole Branagh and Elaine Youngs, the #1 Team in the world at the time.   We won various CBVA and Corona Wide Open tournaments throughout the year.  Nothing was sweeter than winning the U.S. Open of Beach Volleyball, which is the final tournament of the year.  We are expecting more success in 2010.
